Weekly Reflection 4

I thought that the video on the Connectome being explained on five different levels was very interesting to watch. I have never heard this term before, but I have heard many discussions revolving around the neural mapping of the brain. It is something that I have thought about before, personally, because it is an interesting conversation on whether or not it is ethical, if possible, to map a human's brain and study it on a computer. I enjoy the topic of artificial intelligence in general, because there is a lot of fear mongering surrounding it when it is potentially a very beneficial resource that humans will be able to access in the near future. The article connecting artificial intelligence to Frankenstein was a great read, and compared Frankenstein's monster to that of a "robot". Blog Post 4

Level 1: At the first level, explaining to a five year old, the neuroscientist utilizes language that is easier for a younger person to understand. He adjusts his language further by using a more excitable tone to keep the children engaged, and using examples that a kid may be familiar with. He also speaks more slowly so the kid can follow. Level 2: At the second level, the language is spoken at a higher level, he appeals by to this audience by letting him speak more, and asking him questions to provoke thinking from the teenager. He also discusses emotions, which someone of this age may have more familiarity with rather than somebody who is five years old. Level 3: Speaking with a college student who is studying science. The college student also has more time to speak than the neuroscientist, and he allows her to explain what it might be for herself before he tells her what it is.
